Joel Osteen Says Gays Are Sinners Who Can Get Into Heaven By Changing Their Ways
Don’t let that bad case of the gay keep those Pearly Gates in the clouds above out of reach, homosexuals. Mega-church Pa$tor Joel Osteen, fresh off his weekly phone chat with Jeebus, reveals to Oprah that there is hope for us sinning gays.
On Sunday night’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, Osteen toned down his usually vigorous anti-gay rhetoric to give sinful heretic homos an invitation to heaven—contingent upon repenting against nature and “changing” into non-sinning heterosexuals, of course.
“I believe they will [get into heaven]. You have to have forgiveness for your sins. I would encourage [gays] to be willing to change and to grow,” said Osteen.
When pressed about whether he believes homosexuals are born sinners, the TV evangelical went on to say, “I believe that homosexuality is shown as a sin in the Scripture, I do. I’m for everybody. I’m not against anybody. I don’t think anybody is second class, but when I read the scripture, with good faith, I can’t see that it doesn’t show that that is not a sin.”
